The Type 18 is defined by a loose, relaxed silhouette, with a mid-rise and straight leg that feels easy and familiar. Made from Candiani selvedge denim, this version is cut in a 12.5 oz fabric and washed down to a beautifully worn-in, authentic look. The light blue shade feels like a denim that has been loved for years. Finished with a button fly, classic five-pocket construction, and a vegan, leather-free back patch. Peppino Peppino is a small-batch denim company based in Viareggio, Italy. Designers Simona Testucci and Suzanne Perrenod's collection presents utilitarian pieces in fun, unique proportions with a nod to Japanese styling and American workwear. All is thoroughly Italian, from raw material to production, and the brand partners with local mills carefully chosen for their sustainability practices.
Most fabrics, trims and labels are sourced locally, with limited, considered exceptions such as Japanese fabrics. The denim is washed in Italy at one of the country’s most established laundries, using techniques designed to reduce chemical impact.
The company remains closer to a mom-and-pop operation than a conventional brand, allowing them to follow production personally and closely. They produce in small batches, making just enough to satisfy demand. It’s a slower, more considered process that naturally avoids unnecessary excess.
