Sula started 25 years ago when designer and owner, Alison Taylor, started selling from a stall on Brighton Beach in the UK where jewel-toned silks billowed in the wind. Almost 25 years later, Sula’s emphasis is placed upon creating an aged aesthetic, combined with comfort and wearability. Made from the finest, often hand-woven fabrics, peace silk, khadi cotton, and washed Irish linen are mainstays. Hand finished detailing such as quiltying, embroidering, and tea dyeing is a signature of Sula. As an independent slow fashion, fair trade, company, Alison personally visits and ensures all the artisanal workshops in Vietnam and textiles mills around the world she commissions operate with ethical and inclusive working practices.
